So I (Grill, 24 Rogue) was questing in Redridge late last night when I got ninja-vited (invited to a party by someone random) by a warrior about level 22 or so and a mage about level 20. I accept and say “What’s up, guys?” and they say “Hey, you got (such and such) quest?” to which I reply “I sure do!! (thinking this was going to be a great way to quicken all these quests) let’s do them!!”
Well things started off well enough. We killed Tharil’zun with ease and headed down to kill Lt. Fangore.
Now if you’re not familiar with Fangore or the area - it’s densely populated by Gnolls and you have to inch forward and pull groups of 2, 3, and sometimes camps of 4. This wasn’t going to be an issue I was sure of because I would sap one and the mage would sheep one and surely an ex-twink still in his early 20’s and a warrior could take 2 level 22’s.
We start clearing and they goof up and end up getting tangled in another group. This is fine and dandy because while they’re running around like chickens with their heads cut off, they’re not interfering in my assassination of each and every last Gnoll in the group. Well each and every last one - except the last one that is. I’m at about 5% health and and laying into this one Gnoll and finally get him low enough to where he turns and starts to walk off - aka “Runs in fear.” Well the mage decides that with the Gnoll at less than 5% health, now would be a good time to sheep it. Sure he sheeps it - and my AUTO ATTACK IS STILL ON. He sheeps it and his health shoots up to 20% and I hit it with my dagger… Now he’s turned on me again and I have 5% health and he’s back up to 20%. I gouge him, sinister strike him once or twice and get him running in fear again. AGAIN the mage sheeps him and I attack the sheep this time with at least 25% health. I pop sprint and get the hell out of there with about 2% of my health. I proceed to tell the mage (who claims two level 70’s and a 67) that sheeping something at less than 5% is a bad idea - even if he thinks he’s doing good by trying to “save” me. I have evasion, sprint, and vanish - all of which I had not used yet.

Incident #2…and #3 really…
We finally get to Fangore and there are 4 of them. I say “I’ll sap one and the mage can start the fight with a sheep” to which the warrior replied “no, I’ll pull them.” I insisted that it’d be much easier fighting just 2 than all four of them (one of which was a shadow-spell caster). No, no, no. The warrior wants to pull so I let him. He pulls and they all come straight to him (at which point he yells at me to bandage him, quickly…). Of course instead of standing there and taking it like the manly little warrior he was - he runs around in no clear direction or straight path until he manages to find another campsite with 4 more Gnolls in it. It’s at this point that he dies and the mage which had sheeped one of them is second on the aggro list for the whole possie that’s 8 deep now. I manage to pull Fangore aside and burn him down. As soon as he hits the ground so does the mage and everyone turns on me. I simply hit Vanish and don’t worry about it. I’m chillin waiting for them to come back not realizing that I needed to loot Fangore (ok, so I had a noob moment as well) thinking that just killing him was satisfactory. After his corpse went away I realized that none of us had finished the quest yet and we needed to do it again. Repeat incident #2. Only this time we’re standing where he will spawn shortly and the warrior gets us into combat with a neighboring patrol just as Fangore spawns. I quickly dispose of Fangore while Dumb and Dumber run for their lives. I loot and sprint out.
They then resurrect at the Spirit Healer and complain about how badly they need new gear and decide that paying someone to run them through the Stockades would be a much better idea than questing. I wished them all luck and was on my way.
Note to self: Don’t accept ninja-vites in lowbie areas.
