Watch Your Mouth in SWTOR

SWTOR Swearing

There’s been a lot of discussion about SWTOR since it’s launch on the 20th. Some of it good, some of it bad. One thing I want to point out is the large number of people who have been warned/banned because of language. Below is a screenshot from the forums in which a player named Irishdrunk was issued a warning for swearing in tells to his friends.

SWTOR Swearing

There were no reports made for the language, rather Bioware must have a screen that all whispers go through and will issue automatic warnings when you drop the f-bomb. This isn’t an isolated case, if you click the links in the third sentence of this post you’ll find others who have had this same problem. So just be warned – don’t swear in SWTOR. Despite there being a language filter and despite the offending words being used in private tells between you and a friend, you could possibly find yourself with a warning or a ban. If you’re banned, you cannot change payment information while banned so you will be charged recurring fees even while your account is banned.

Take this with a grain of salt of course… because it was on the internet and half of what I find/read on the internet is usually made up. But there do seem to be a fair amount of people experiencing it and it’s sometimes better to just watch your language instead.
