Ok...we had time to get 1 fleet and some small lowbie npc's, but I got my contention up to around 600. Will look for more tomorrow night.

After checking in-game, it appears that the port battle for riding rocks will occur tuesday night at around 2300PDT. This might be inconvenient for many people from the east coast, so I'm not sure how many we will have to compete with for a spot.

Btw, looks like JL will be using the herc for the port battle.

heheh yeah. RM put riding rocks into contention a little too late.

hopefully it will be a short battle and wont go too long past midnight .

also, the french was busy grinding contention at spanishtown last night. i think they got it to 7500 but then had to stop. maybe they can push it over 10k tonight and we can have another port battle on thursday night. :p

I disagree. That will spread our resources too thin to get anything accomplished. Plus, I just don't see very many spanish players sailing around.

The brits are the main target right now, courtesy not of the french, but rather the pirates.

i was all coming into work after the late port battle last night, but decided otherwise this morning.

Back on track with the subject...

The port battle at riding rocks late last night was the third victory in a row for the french. It was 16 vs. 16, but the brits were hesitent in getting into a direct open sea battle with our third rates and other ships of the line. After the town entrance was opened, our detachment of 6 heavies, lead by Ariane, was ordered to take down the garrison commander and win the port. As we moved into town, the brits came after us, but other french ships, including a valiant, was able to sink a brit ship before the others went into town to engage us in hand-to-hand combat.

Needless to say, the brits were hopelessly outdueled, and the french won the port of riding rocks without losing a single ship.

However, the brits will be licking their wounds and gearing up some heavy firepower for the next port battle this thursday at spanish town. So keep focused and be prepared for a much stronger british force seeking revenge.

I just read that the British has lost their 2nd rate (sunk by pirates).

They are really hurting for rated ships. Good time to strike and strike fast and with bigger and better ships...which brings me to my next post...in "our unstated goal".

Not so fast...

Earlier in the day LVF and RM put up some serious grind groups and established a bubble around belize. However, a few hours later, the brits were determined to reduce the large bubble to a smaller one with an unrest of around 3k. During that time, RM got into a pvp situation with the brits in the red and subsequently lost 4 ships, including an alex. According to Alizee, she intervened just in time to save a RM mercy from destruction.

Do not expect the british to come out weak in the next port battle.

However, a few hours later, the brits were determined to reduce the large bubble to a smaller one with an unrest of around 3k. During that time, RM got into a pvp situation with the brits in the red and subsequently lost 4 ships, including an alex. According to Alizee, she intervened just in time to save a RM mercy from destruction.

Do not expect the british to come out weak in the next port battle.

it was only 6-10 brits who came out in open seas ships. (achilles, mercy, capri mc, arcadia mc, hermes sleek where the ships i remembered.) these types of ships will not win a port battle.

the brits have been reluctant to bring out the heavy ships of late.... RM has 6 valiants and at least a few more naval officers with alexes. LVF has two reasons and an alex. i'm still feeling pretty confident.

yes.. we also shouldn't overestimate the french... who apparently have lvl 50 naval officers bringing hercules frigates to port battles.

(if you come tonight... make sure you position yourself with the "strikers". being grouped with them would make your herc more useful)

things turned out well and i was able to participate in the spanishtown port battle.

and it was the best PB ever so far!

22 french vs. 20 brits. all in big ships. no one tried to run so we were duking it out broadside to broadside.

at the end, only 3-4 brits got away, and only 9 french sunk.

woot for us!
