carrier, our 1on1 skirmish yesterday was very fun and very instructional to me. i actually did not expect the conq sleek to stand up as well as it did. i wonder if things would have been different if i was using a more tanky type ship.

also... after you left last night, berti and some of the other guys came over to the RMG channel. berti seems to have a really high opinion of your skills. so much so that everyone started making fun about his man-crush for you. you might have to watch out... he probably pleasures himself while looking at your in-game avatar. hahaha.

Berti still doesnt know how noobie I still am. Sure I've leaned a lot, I have done a good number of port battles, and I don't mind mixing it up in a 6v6; but I still have lots to learn.

I am pretty vocal after PB's too. Even when we win and no one wants to "criticize a win" I'll still speak up and tell them how they fucked things up and we just got lucky the other side fucked up worse than we did.

As far as our skirm, yea the Conq sleek as a good number of guns on it. I think you were sporting more broadside armor than I was, but I had a little more DR. If you had full crew and full DPS potential you probably would have won that. I was using stone shot on my top deck and bronze on my lower deck. And you did give me a few good bow/stern shots

I love stone shot. They are better in 1v1's or small number battles. They have a nice effect on Crew, Sails, and Armor. And when your crew gets too low you get a debuff; for a Privateer it lowers your reload speed and turning. For a Naval Officer it lowers turning and acceleration. So, by me using stone shot to keep MTS's crew low I can lower his DPS.

to counter that i was trying to flip sides and double my dps by engaging with both broadsides..... however the problem was that by doing this, i left my stern vulnerable to abuse, hehe.

generally, no. there are more important stats you can boost. boosting rear armor would be a waste of a mod slot. the best thing to do is not show your ass. but if you have to there are trick you can do to minimize damage; like wait until he shoots a full broadside, stun him or take away his ability to do spike damage to your stern, turn on defense buffs, etc.
