just learned this in the port battle yesterday...
privateer demoralize ability erases navy officer thundering broadside. demoralize debuffs several stats on the target. thundering broadside prevents the target from using any abilities that take moral. since thundering broadside is generally considered better in most fights, privateers are advised not to use demoralize at all.
