I don't do betas often, but when i do, i prefer star wars.
i thought it was painless enough to install the xbox one beta. anyone else want to play some of the survival modes?

If I had a PS4 I'd join ya for sure. I'm waiting for the PC release. But even then I may wait until it's on sale. I've been watching streamers play it. The Graphics look very pretty. But game play seems average and typical Battlefront - which some folks really enjoy. It's Star Wars so I'll probably buy it an play it

Re: star wars battlefront
i got the PC version and have played it a little. it is somewhat like Battlefield, but not exactly. The following are some differences.
- no reloading. the blasters start to overheat as they are shot. as long as you stay with short bursts, you can keep shooting. you go into a long cooldown if you totally overheat the blaster.
- grenades and other secondary abilities are on CD.
- powerups are available. stationary guns, turrets and mines are single use and take up the powerup slot until used. also, vehicles like ties and xwings are also powerups. (instead of a vehicle sitting at the spawn point, there are powerup icons. otherwise not much different.)
- heroes... i haven't figured out how to get to be a hero. it occurs periodically. han solo shows up controlled by a player and pwns a few people before being taking out. kinda funny i guess.
finally, the biggest difference has been the "leveling" up. things are quite linear. there isn't choosing different weapons, and slowing upgrading them. The in game currency is used to buy weapons and abilities and they seem pretty static to me. to eventually get to better weapons means saving up currency.
over all, its been pretty fun. i think it will have more longevity for me than battlefield: hardline.

Re: star wars battlefront
so heroes are also like vehicles. you get it as a powerup and you turn into the hero with special powers. it seems that boba fett is the OP hero at the moment. his jet pack makes him super maneuverable, and he can kill at range.
unlike regular characters whos' health returns to full when out of action for a few seconds, heroes' health never returns. (which might explain some things like the old medic boxes from Battlefield games aren't in this one.)
also... it seems there are lots of things to spend the in-game credits on... but once you unlock most of the fighting abilities and weapons, credits are used on things like different character skins and other fluff....
