"Heh ... I recognize that answer and tone. Pleased to meet you,
Mr Ghelve.
We are charged with investigating a theft. From the orphanage,
which we have learned is protected by some of your very fine
locks. In our investigation, we have learned that the locks were
not forced, or broken, or avoided. They appear to have been properly
opened and closed. We have inventoried the keys involved, and
are here to learn what you can about the orphanages locks and
keys.
Do you remember the job of which I speak. And are you willing
to assist us?"
Mr Ghelve.

"A merchant, certainly. An artisan, perhaps ... Honest, we will discern.
Tell me about the locks at the orphanage."
Tell me about the locks at the orphanage."

Mr Ghelve, my name is Sealamin Darksbane
As my formidable and somewhat aggressive colleague has accurately stated we are working for the temple trying to find the missing children, a quest which I am sure a man of the city such as yourself would support
We spoke with Mrs Gertchyn at the orphanage and she informed us that a couple of years ago you replaced the locks at the orphanage as the old ones were falling apart
It would be helpful to us if you could tell us about the locks that you installed, how many keys you had made and how complicated it would be to bypass those locks
your assistance may be the difference in finding the children alive or dead

Re: Chapter 3: Investigating the missing children
Ghelve appears nervous at the sight of five armed men/elf/eladrin/half-elf entering his shop and speaking somewhat menacingly. He scratches his small beard.
"I don't remember the locks I sold to every client of the city. I may have sold one to the... an orphanage, who knows. Now please leave my shop."

"Who are you to ask such things of me?", says Ghelve as he thrusts his small chest forward.

Sorrin
Master Ghelve, pardon my associates abruptness.
My name is Sorrin, I am a cleric of the Raven Queen . There are those who seek to keep these children from being found, even to the point of assaulting a cleric of Bahamut. We prevented them from their murderous intent and have been entrusted by the Temple of Bahamut with ferreting out the location of these children, and securing their release to safety. (At this point I provide our document from the Temple).

Jack Shadowfire
I stand by, looking serious and slightly menacing.
You must construct additional pylons!

"Sire Sorrin, I am thrilled to make your acquaintance. Now, I know nothing, you are not of the militia, so leave me alone."

"We are working in concert with the militia. Open your ears.
You *will* deal with us. If you delay us any longer, we *will*
also arrange a visit from the militia as well.
We are talking about 4 children kidnapped, several adults
missing, and one murderous assault.
Check your records. How many keys
were provided for the orphanage. Have you made any more."
Intimidate 1d20+4 = 20(woot!)+4 = 24

Re: Chapter 3: Investigating the missing children
Ghelve's face changes first to red and then white. His eyes become wide and his jaw moves as if he wanted to say something but no sound could be heard. He suddenly appears tired, so very tired. "I... I can't..." All of a sudden Ghelve appears to beg you with his eyes. With his head he nods or points a couple of times towards a set of curtains that hang behind him.
Re: Chapter 3: Investigating the missing children
I draw my sword, wait for my colleagues to position and prepare themselves then I will cast ghost hand to pull back the curtains, ready to follow up with more combat oriented spells

Re: Chapter 3: Investigating the missing children
I ready my weapon and holy symbol, and position myself so I can see the curtains and the entrance we came through.

( Seeing Ghelve's eyes, and noticing my partners alert, I quickly draw my sword, move towards the curtain,
and draw it aside )
