"Hmm, that was different. Everyone OK? Anyone notice anything different?"

I look around, making sure my party members are fine, and examining the
surroundings for any changes.

You don't see anything different. Sorrin, Fea and Jack appear okay in the corridor. They all saw the wooden floor shake and the runes glow lightly there too, but now it's immobile once again.

Reassured that we are all safe I suggest to discidio that he move the levers in a different sequence as I trace the runes
____________

Dungeon +8 = Roll(1d20)+8: 13,+8 Total:21

if I get a +2 from Discidio's assistance Total = 23

With the experience gained form the previous attempt, Sealamin traces the runes and suggests a different sequence for moving the levers, which he's able to do by himself. This time, the runes glow softly and the wooden floor starts moving downwards, slowly. The runes around it also glow.

I watch the floor slowly sink ... if Seal can't stop it, I motion for the others to join my on the platform, moving quickly before it gets too low.

I get ready to join Discido if he goes for it.
You must construct additional pylons!

I prepare to follow Jack & Discidio and should they get on the platform I will do so as well

"I guess we can worry about figuring out how this works when we need to return. I would have preferred to understand its workings in advance as we will be challenged should we need to make a hasty withdrawl"

So you all look at the platform moving, then at yourselves, then at the platform, than at yourselves again...

And you jump on.

The platform goes down, slowly at first, then a little faster. It moves into a dark natural rock shaft, far enough that you've lost sight of the top hole for long moments before the platform finally stops. You must have descended at least a hundred meeters, if not a good deal more. Not only that, but at one point you also moved laterally.

Although you evaluate that you're further down under the city now, and though most of you still feel uncomfortable at being in these enclosed spaces, you feel a difference between these tunnels where you end up and Jzadirune where you come from. As if a veil of madness had been removed.

The place where you end up is a generally circular cavern some fourty feet across, with three tunnels leaving it and one additional opening leading into the shaft where the wooden floor is now located.

You find a secret door leading to a cleverly crafted room next to the shaft, which includes similar controls than those you found in Jzadirune.

I study the cavern looking for noteworthy features:

Perception Roll(1d20)+4: 2+4 = 6
You must construct additional pylons!

In a high whisper

"Stick together. We know there are enemies around here.
Sorrin, Jack, check that map out. Can you tell which way we
want to go, and how far it is?"

You think you nailed down how to operate the moving floor.
Jack wrote:I study the cavern looking for noteworthy features
The cavern appears to be natural, but on closer inspection you see that some of the rock might have been cut long ago. You find an old now legless wooden table lying against the wall between two passages, and also bits of pottery in another corner. There is rubble here and there lying on a relatively even floor, otherwise the area is pretty much just rock all around.
