Hmm .. I'd think it would be better to keep it in game. Rolen hasn't seen us fight, but a discussion
'round the campfire describing your skills and how they would augment ours would certainly
be appropriate. Perhaps on the walk to the Monkey.

I'm going to be away for a week starting this Tuesday and was wondering if it would be worth mentioning, so I did some figuring. Based on our rate of progress of about one year of real time equals a week in game, I determined that a week would be about 3 hours and 15 minutes in game. I guess if Fea was going to be out away from the party doing stuf for that long he'd probably mention it to the guys.

i sorta assumed Fea was the point man/scout of the group. i didn't want rolen to usurp his role. though, since Fea will be a zombie for a week starting on tuesday, i suppose rolen can fill in for that duration.

Actually I was suggesting that Fea scout ahead and that would explain his absence from the group
potentially he coule be deep scout and you close scout while the noisy Discidio, Sealamin and Sorrin follow

i guess video games have totally rotted my expectations.... area of effect spells in d&d cause friendly damage if you are in the blast range?

what about using an enemy as "cover" from enemy archers trying to aim at us?

Yes.

If the enemy is free to move, he doesn't provide cover for his allies (as your allies don't provide cover for your attacks either). It is assumed, I guess, that the allies will move out of the way under command from their archer.

If the enemy is not free to move, e.g. grabbed, it could be argued that you use him as living shield. Let me know if you want to try something like that.

As an aside, here is a power from a creature in the Monster Manual that's a fun incarnation of this concept. Imagine the bugbear strangler as the creature that lurks in the dark and darts out to attack unexpectedly, grabbing an opponent with a rope around his neck...

we have played with others stepping in for an absent member before
my guess is that we will only get 1 or 2 rounds completed in Sun's absence and he will be able to play the finish

question on "messing up" on a perception check....

on other checks.... you can pretty much tell if you have a poor roll, what might happen.
poor stealth check.. you make too much noise.
poor attack roll... you miss.
etc...

but what if you make a poor perception check? how do you tell if you didn't notice something? so, in this instance, how do i tell the difference between not hearing something because there was nothing to hear... and not hearing something because i zoned out and didn't hear something that is there that would have been heard had i not messed up?

this has important implications on whether or not Rolen wants to open that door now.

btw.... rolen tried starting this conversation, but didn't get much other than sealamin telling him to stay out of the AOE.

what i was hoping to get to was stuff like synergies between different moves we have. for instance, there is a feat called "distant advantage" which grants combat advantage if a target is flanked. if someone were to have this feat, rolen might cooperate and try to get into flanking position to enable this feat.

basically, what i'm asking is whether are are any tactical requests you guys have?
