sound down? how do you get sound from text? lol. i'm not 'down' about anything. I just want your first born and for you to win the 2012 WCG SC2 tournament - so start practicing. :P

anyway, just trying to keep the interest up since there was so much hype.

you made it seem like i wasn't going to get the game or something. i'm not into league of legends, so i won't be doing like ret/stomp/morg.

oh. sorry if it sounded that way. I know lots of Elders are getting the game. Hopefully we can rock our own elders clan/channel and get some good games in for the next 12 years or so. :D

Concept
You need to manage your base, defend incoming attacks, keep your minerals low, rescue a neutral unit and defeat your opponent all while microing a probe that is constantly being chased by a zergling.
Features
The player has the ability to select his desired race at the beginning of the map as well as choose from five different difficulty settings or create the custom settings that are better suited to his needs.
This map is hard. Don't be surprised if you fail over and over. Just keep practicing.
Wow. This was intense.. at first I didn't think I'd even be able to get "very easy", but after I played (and died) for a while, I figured out how to get it all done.

Easy took almost twice as long, mostly because of forgetting to chrono, but I picked up even more ideas. I'm not ready to try tackling normal tonight.

I think this will really up my game, because even on "very easy", you can't fuck around. Hotkey every building, hotkey special units, even hotkey critical locations.
Okay, I played a bunch of game on normal tonight. It took me six or so times before I could survive the first attack. I'm nowhere near actually winning yet. But it is fun and challenging.

You can still play the trainer while the beta is over?

Yup! Just drag the trainer file onto the SC executable, and it will fire
up without you needing to log in to the no longer responsive servers.

Hah, have you tried to beat that thing? Sometimes I just have to sit back in my chair and laugh as it all falls apart. So hard.

Hah my biggest problem is when I get home I always forget to jump on this site and grab the trainer.

Figured I would like it since it sounds overly challenging.

Hopefully not mind numbingly so.

I guess I best just email this link to myself.

Umm ... I have learned alot using this tool, like I really have not developed
any skill in microing units apart from my main and whatever army group I
have in action. I'm learning to use the minimap alot for this type of work. Not
what I expected to be working on, but I guess that's the point :).

Heh I finally got around to downloading it and trying it.

It is pretty fun but I still haven't figured out the trick to keep my probe from getting owned.

I don't really have too much of a problem keeping it going just can't find the right path to keep it alive.

Definitely interesting though.

For very easy I thought the pursuer was supposed to be slow. The zergling seems to have no problem nipping at the heels of my probes.

I did manage to get one probe to last quite a while but at the end I lost it as well.

I was nearly at the end of the time frame for the run as well and lost the majority of the crap I built.

Seems this will force me to do things a lot differently.

Is there an upgrade that would help the probes stay alive? Is that part of the build order that should be considered?

He's probably nipping at your heels because you're waypointing the probe, right? The probe will come to a complete stop at each waypoint before proceeding to the next.

You can't do that. You've got to go back to him every 3 seconds and control him manually. Click three or so times to give him a gradual curve as you reverse directions, and then click on the other corner of the island. Setting location hotkeys is pretty damn useful.

Wow this is a bit too much micro managing for me so far.

Yeah I am wave pointing. I figured out a way to keep the probe alive through wave points.

However they typically eventually die. But this takes so long that it doesn't matter as the time given runs out before then.

I have gotten a little better at this but not much.

I build up a decent starter army and they just get owned by the simple army.

I will have to see if I can do the gentle curve angle.

it takes a lot of practice, hehe.

remember to make your "mental checklist" and just go over and over it while you are practicing
...make a probe...
...check scout probe...
...build a unit...
...check sout probe...
...chrono boost...
...check scout probe...
...build probe...
...check scout probe...
...build a unit...

etc, etc...

just form that check list and work on 1 or 2 of your mechanics, like keeping the scout alive while building only probes until time runs out.

then next game, keep scout alive, build probes, and make 3 gateways

next game; keep scout alive, build probes, make 3 gateways, make units

next game; keep scout alive, build probes, make 3 gateways and assimilator, make units

you get the idea. :D eventually you will be able to do it all, no problems!

Ah, I've finally beaten the multitasking trainer on normal as Protoss.

I definitely had to fight for every inch, choosing the right build and optimizing it down to a smooth running machine. I'm pretty sure my APM has doubled or tripled since I started training on this thing.

As a break I played through on "easy" with Terran and Zerg. Terran I got on my first try, and zerg my second. I can definitely apply the hotkeying strategies I use with Protoss on them. Still I'm pretty sure normal will be crazy on those, since I don't really know what I'm doing with T and Z.
