Kripp and Krippi team up to get world first hardcore inferno diablo kill. And I'm still smashing my face against Act III on infinite life mode. To be fair, I've probably put in about 300 less hours than they have.

Do you know if they ended up farming the gear or buying it?

You can't use the RMAH with a hardcore character. The hardcore and softcore AH's are completely different. Make a hardcore character just to check the gold AH, I don't believe you could put together a set of gear to beat Act 4 inferno from that AH even if you had unlimited gold.

From my understanding they farmed most of it, but also several of the stream watchers sold them gear that they could use as well. I don't believe they accepted gear/gold gifts, but I could be completely mistaken. They definitely did not "buy" it since there is no RMAH as Morgan pointed out and since there are VERY few hardcore characters in Inferno the gold AH is pretty sparse for top end gear.

You can't farm inferno in hardcore like you can in softcore because most of the softcore farmers have 200,000 dps and zero defense so they can burn through everything in 2 seconds and if they die they just pop back up and keep going. On hardcore you have to be completely defensive minded meaning "farming" takes approximately forever because you have to use extreme caution. If you charge through a doorway blasting away you could be dead in 0.5 seconds.

There is next to no act 3+ inferno gear on the hardcore AH.
