TF2: Mann Vs Machine

Mann vs Machines

Valve’s new content patch for the popular F2P Team Fortress 2 is out and is entitled Mann vs Machine. It’s a coop mode where you and five friends duke it out against hordes of enemy robots (who strikingly resemble their flesh-covered counterparts). They will be rolling out the new features over the next few days and today it’s Machines. Tomorrow is The Mercs and tomorrow is Bounty. For info on the Machines check out Valve’s release over at teamfortress.com or click the image below.

Mann vs Machines

Edit Day Two: Upgrades! Upgrade your weapons and gear between waves of Machines. Upgrades are like the Heavy being able to shoot through enemies, Engineer being able to place second level 1 sentry, etc. Also, “potions” aka Canteens that give boosts or health. Read More: The Mercs.

New Steam Community Updates

Steam Community Updates

Over the next few days Steam will be rolling out some updates to the Steam Community. For the first day, they’re announcing new Game Hubs. “Game Hubs are collections of game-centric discussions, workshop items, screenshots, videos, and news. It’s both community created and official content, as rated by you, Steam users,” it reads. From here you’ll be able to see Youtube videos uploaded by people who have linked their Steam and Youtube accounts, screenshots people have taken while in-game, a discussions tab (to save the time of digging through the Steam Forums), and you’ll be able to vote things up or down and the more popular content will stay at the top.

Here’s the official page for the updates. Keep watching that page over the next 4 days to see what other cool things they’re going to be bringing to their store’s community and when they’ll be announcing a closed beta of the updates.

Just Cause 2 Multiplayer Beta In Full Swing

Just Cause 2 Multiplayer

Just Cause 2 Multiplayer was in full swing this weekend with public beta testing. Before you watch the video below, keep in mind it’s sort of a “best of” video and doesn’t really portray the chaos that was the public beta. Over the course of the weekend 22,420 unique players connected to the JC2-MP beta server, these 22,420 players died 383,875 times. That’s 2.2~ deaths per second… lots of spawn camping, rockets at everything that moved, etc. Bolo Patch has also been disabled because it would allow for invincible players to dominate players who didn’t know about the Bolo Patch.

The crew over at JC2-MP have issued a statement acknowledging the issues with guns – how all hit registers are client-side and people that spawn with grenade launchers and rocket launchers basically own everything in sight.

If you’re curious as to what JC2-MP can be like and how much fun it is, take a look at this video.
