Wreck It Ralph

Wreck it Ralph

There’s a new movie coming out by Disney about Wreck-It-Ralph. He’s very similar to a lot of arcade games you’ve played before and he’s sick of being the bad guy… he’s sick of being thrown off of his tower day after day after day. He’s had enough and decides he’s going to try new games. Personally, I’m stoked and can’t wait to see it. Check out the trailer.

Diablo III Getting Patch 1.0.3

Diablo III Patch 1.0.3

Diablo III will be getting a new content patch soon. Some of the big changes are:

Item Drops:

  • Higher level items will be dropped in previous lower level acts on inferno, but at a lower rate. So if you can’t seem to knock out Act II then you can still have a shot at getting upgrade-gear from Act I without necessarily turning to the AH to buy it.
  • Lowering the number of guaranteed Rare items on bosses when you have your full five stacks of Nephalem Valor from two guaranteed Rares to one guaranteed Rare (you still have a very good chance at multiple rares, it’s just no longer guaranteed). In exchange, all champion and rare packs will now drop a bonus guaranteed Rare item when you have your full five stacks of Nephalem Valor. The change benefits players with more overall drops, and a reason to push to continue progressing.

Grouping:

  • Removing the bonus monster damage per additional player in a coop game. They said their design goal is for players who prefer to play solo to be able to play solo, and players who prefer to play in groups to be able to play in a group. They feel the bonus monster damage per additional player is one of the biggest inhibitors to wanting to play with your friends, and it might be one reason people tend to fly solo over grouping.

Difficulty:

  • Dropping difficulty level for Act II Inferno to be more in line from a step-up from Act I Inferno instead of the leap that it is now.

Misc:

  • Repair costs are going up. Right now they don’t feel that people are really thinking twice before making decisions because repairing is little to no punishment for their mistakes.
  •  Reducing the effectiveness of Increased Attack Speed. This will come by either lowering the stats on many pieces of gear or adding a hidden “diminishing return” on Attack Speed.
  • Blacksmith and Jeweler costs are coming down.
  • Various other little tweaks but no large class fixes/changes.

Watch Dogs at E3

We all love seeing new IP and franchises come up instead of “just another installment in X” so when I saw the trailer for Watch Dogs I was stoked. A very cool looking game that appears to have bits of Hitman and bits of Grand Theft Auto combined. Hopefully we’ll get a little bit more info on the game soon.
