Project Blackstone

Project Blackstone

All of you Blizzard fans that have been patiently awaiting the Starcraft 2 expansion Heart of the Swarm will be excited to find these little teasers that Blizzard has “accidentally” released. It’s called Project Blackstone and seems to be an alternate reality game centered around Starcraft 2’s HoTS similar in style to Halo 2’s I Love Bees and A.I’s The Beast.

Basically it’s just a bit of viral marketing and hype that you can follow along with as it unfolds. Some nimble-minded individuals peaked at the source code of the page and discovered a password for the site that was embedded in it: Y7_$0>0k_3<$m

So poke around and get excited for some HoTS which will be arriving March 12th.

Tribal Hero

Tribal Hero

A Reddit user by the name of giulianob says he has invested the last few years in making a city building/war game. Got my curiosity so I checked it out. It’s called Tribal Hero. It might possibly be the slowest MMO ever made, but it’s actually kind of fun. It’s not something you sit in front of for hours on end. You can log in 2-3 times a day and do just fine. After starting and finishing the tutorial I found myself with not a whole lot to do. I checked back a little later and some of the abilities and things I could do had come off of cooldown and was able to spend a few minutes playing around building up my city. It’s similar in practice (and in name) to Tribal Wars and Travian. The best part about Tribal Hero though is that it seems to be completely free to play and there’s nothing I can find so far that’s asked me for money. If you want to read up a little more on it you can check out their wikia page or check out the Triabl Hero subreddit.

Warcraft Movie Lands Duncan Jones

Warcraft Movie

Sources keeping up with the long awaited (and still waiting) live-action film based on the Warcraft universe have reported that Duncan Jones, director of the awesome films Moon and Source Code and son of David Bowie, will be directing the movie – when it ever happens. It’s supposed to start being filmed in fall of 2013 with a 2015 release. With a budget of over $100 million and the script under lock, I’m excited to hear any new news about this as it comes out.
